Brookside by Day is often considered one of the best places for breakfast in Tulsa. The diner was founded in 1991 by two friends working separately in the restaurant industry. As they recall, “neither one of us knew how to flip an egg when we opened Brookside By Day” and did not have a sensational start, but BBD steadily built a regular crowd with its solid diner fare, friendly atmosphere, and young, eclectic waitstaff. Now, expect a crowd as it is jam-packed every Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy Southern comfort food such as heaping platefuls of biscuits and gravy, fluffy omelets with all the trimmings, hash browns and grits.
